Autumn in Val Venosta is particularly impressive thanks to the colourful foliage, mild temperatures, and harvest season. The region offers ideal conditions for hiking and outdoor activities.
Near Panoramahotel Watles there are numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. Hiking on the surrounding mountains, mountain biking, and classic car excursions over legendary passes such as the Stelvio or the Ofenpass are particularly recommended. The autumn landscape makes these activities especially beautiful. Paragliding is also very popular – with its own take-off and landing sites, autumn provides particularly good conditions for flying enthusiasts.
Törggelen is a traditional South Tyrolean autumn event where the new wine (Suser) and typical seasonal specialities such as chestnuts, speck, and Schlutzkrapfen are enjoyed. The Törggelen season usually begins at the end of September and lasts into November.

In September, temperatures in Val Venosta are mild, usually between 15 and 20 °C. In October, temperatures drop to 5–15 °C, and nights can already be cool. By November, it becomes noticeably colder, and in higher regions frost is common.
