Waalwege
The old paths along the water channels
are designed to relax and to regenerate yourself. What is more relaxing than walking across woods, meadows and orchards along the "Waalwege" in the Val Venosta hills, accompanied by the quiet water murmur? The "Waale" are an old irrigation system to carry water to the dry Val Venosta fields. This region is the most arid in the Alps; these channels were built with rudimentary means. The water also comes from glaciers, carried to the villages and single farms. The hiking paths along the old channels are popular among the guests wishing to take part into quiet and easy hiking trips. The "Waale" are an unforgettable experience for everyone, even for grandparents and children!
